Cracking the Coding Interview
Updated September 10, 2024 — 2 min read

Reading time: 1 day for the introductory section, then plan 1-2 days for each of the 17 problem-solving chapters. Rating: 7/10
Review:
The book is useful for preparing for interviews at major companies. It covers frequently asked interview topics with descriptions of approaches and problem-solving methods, along with practice problems. It pairs well with Top 150 Interview Questions and other sets on LeetCode. Beyond the practical section, the book includes an introductory part describing the overall hiring process at major FAANG companies. My recommendation is not to spend too much time carefully reading every word — skim through the introductory section, then pick the specific topics that interest you and work through only those. Not every chapter will be relevant to you.
Why is it useful?
— Useful for preparing for interviews at major companies — Saves time with concise summaries of approaches and problem-solving methods for frequently asked interview topics — Provides a set of problems for practice — Gives an overall picture of the hiring process at FAANG companies
